Hi all,

An new to off roading. Have just done up a LR90. Am looking at some Inca Turbo tires; but whcih tire size are best:

  • 235/85R16
  • 265/75R16

Thanks,

Mike

Nowt to choose between those... might be a very very slight advantage to the 265 over really soft sand and the 235's are a gnats cock (like about 2mm) larger diameter.

Go with whichever is cheaper.

Any particular reason for the special tracks? They're called 'tracks' because that's what they sound like on the road... honestly a JCB Excavator would be quieter. Have a look at the Saharas, excellent all round MTs and not so loud on road that they scare small children and need ear defenders ;)

Cheers,

i have this make of tyre on my 90..
265/75/16,they catch on full lock and do catch in the archs very slightly offroad,on road they sound like an old army landrover and i wouldnt reccomend going over 50mh or less in the rain
but offroad they are the best tyres i have ever used and they really do perform well in the mud and deep water.
so if you want an offroad tyre but can still drive on road then yes go for them, but if you do a lot of road miles i wouldnt recomend them

Hi I got 265/75/16 on mine but have a 2"lift kit and only get a lil bit of rubbing on full lock, I use it for work so do quite a bit of driving with them and have no probs as yet....

Phew, thank fook fer that, we adn't ad one er these ere fer ages an i were gerrin a bit worried, i can now oh-facially declare that LANDYZONE IS BACK - seems it took the return of Buster to achieve it though :D:D:D Welcome back Mate.

WTF is yu on about?????

Was worried that we were losing LZ (as per the "come back lzee" fred) due to the lack of questions about tyre size, which is always a good indicato of the health of the forum and there had been a noteable absence for a while, but there are now 2 on there so i reckon we are getting back to full health - which coincides with Buster's return...coincidence...i think not!!!:D

Thanks guys for your input. The only reason I was looking at the Special Track was because I was recommended it for off-road capabilities. Also I only use the Landy on the road around town; otherwise its for off roading. Maybe the Saharas would be quieter.

oh yes a lot quieter..
i love the special tracks of road, but they do sound quite funny on the road and people often turn round to see whats coming..saharas seem to be your best bet if you aint doing much mud stuff
