Evening all, hoping for the benefit of the collective wisdom on the Forum.
Wired up the light bar on the roof recently but hadn't any need to use them until last night. Switched them on with main beam and it was bleddy awful. All working fine but the light pattern from the admittedly cheap rectangular lamps was woeful. Glare was unbelievable, and I saw less with them on than with full beam alone.
Now, I've read a few threads warning of the glare off the bonnet but that wasn't so much the issue, the problem was that it was as if the spots were pointed straight into the windscreen.
Probably the laps themselves as I say, so wondering if any of you have any recommendations on what type/make to fit or any other workarounds. Eg would round spots give a better beam, or might lamps mounted above the bar rather than underslung be marginally better - low branches permitting?
Looking forward to your thoughts.
Cheers
