I want to get a 4x4 for mainly offroad but on road to ive had a rangerover before but had far to much electical stuff and pnuematic suspension and stuff so was thinking on a discovery what u guys think plus ive seen some with no back windows like a van can u get them like that or do u have to weld them up

Defender will be your best bet as they are less likely to loose bumpers and windows fall out. Brillant off-road and ok on road don't have to spend much either to get off-road ready.

and which would be best engine for power, ease to work on and rialibility, i want to strip the car down to bare essentials

injuns are similar.Sounds like you want a disco commercial.Should be some-not loads on ebay.

yeah thats what i want thought it was a technical term lol, arnt the different in power was thinkin of a 4.6L

Best off roader imo, Defender and V8 is a very good combo. Bags of power and if you bash anything then you can just replace the panels instead of trashing the shell on the likes of a Disco.

4.6 is a p38 range rover injun.3.9 v8 goes in discos-loved the one in me classsic. Dont know if you can get a v8 disco commercial tho.think there all dezul.

yeah i had the rr in 4.6 thats why i was thinking, did u have to fit the 3.9 into the defender or can u get them in it and was mainly thinkin more along the lines of the disco because i thought the defenders were i little tight for room and im quite a big lad lol

you can get v8 defenders, but they are designed for people with no right arm.Mine was in a rr classic

I dunno what to go for now lol i like the idea of can replace and panel and so on but dont wanna keep bashing my elbow

Buy a second hand Scorpian recce vehicle with tracks rather than tyres. Fit track pads to save to roads and go out in it.:D:D

If you don't want to bash your arm open the window lol. If you want to take off road alot and want a realiable engine with not alot of wires get a defender 300tdi and yes they are like Lego you can do everything yourself

Or fit a smaller steering wheel so you don't have to open the window in this weather as the heater is like a mouse blowing over a candle.
