Bent my drag link today on my 200tdi (wish I had got a steering guard ), but for the new one, would it be worth sliding a piece of beefy steel tube over it?

Anyone this before or got any other strengthening suggestions?

just buy a set of heavy duty track rods and the ends. The set is only about £80.
