Hi, only my second post so please be gentle!..

Can someone please confirm for me the thread type on the bell housing studs, it is a perkins prima engine mated to the original 2A 'box, but as far as I can tell the original studs have been used.

The studs have a coarse thread at one end which is either 3/8 whitworth or UNC (can someone confirm this please). I believe the two are interchangable to a point (only difference is the thread angle) but I want to order up a tap so want to use the correct one if possible.

The fine end of the stud I believe is 3/8 UNF, can someone please confirm this also.

Muchos thanks in advance!

It's a unc and a unf can't remember the threads though although you could just use bolts in the unc size. May be 7/16 but really can't remember as I replaced all with Allen bolts

excellent many thanks! I am missing about 5 studs so will order up some UNC bolts to replace them and a tap to just clean out the threads beforehand

Just make sure they are the right size as I really can't remember without getting one out and I'm no where near it now

There definately 3/8" I have a couple of the studs out at the moment. I bought the landy with the gearbox off and as is the way with taking jobs over from someone else things seem to get lost along the way!
