Can't find it!

Wuz obvious on me Deepender. Can't find it on me III tho'. Just concerned cos' of a little bit of clutch judder when pulling away & fort I'd better check a wading plug hasn't been left in (I've never put one in, but thort I'd better check there ain't been one there since I bought it since it's got remote breathers fer everything else!)

Anyone gorra picture of where it is? Honest, I've had a bluddy good look & jest can't see it!

??

No piccies Marcus but mine is obvious right at the bottom of the bell housing. I even managed to find the towage bracket once I'd cleared the muck off. I'll take a piccie and post it the morro if no-one else has one to hand.

Maybe there's a HOLE but nicely smoothed-over with mud and grot?

Give it a good poke with a screwdriver dead centre

Nope, clean as a whistle is me unnerside!

Nope Slob, ain't blaming me clutch neeva. Wuz sheiteing mesel' about rolling it & wuz driving like a **** as a result!

Ha ha, cheers Slobbo. How duz that werk then. If there ain't one, how duz any leaked injun oil get out?

Seeps out the gaps because all the bellhousing nuts will have come loose by the time the rear crank seal starts leaking.

Now that is a good You Tube clip - more of the same please.

Marcus,

As promised pic attached (or whatever happens to the link). You can see the hole at the back of the bellhousing facing the rear of the sump, just next to the stowage bkt.

Maybe a prvious owner thought the hole wasn't meant to be there and blanked it off:confused: You never know - I've seen stranger.

Ooo ay, mine dunt look like that at all! Think this might be down to me having a V8 mounted onto a series box.

Cheers fer the pic' Ashoo. At least I now know I'm not just losing me marbles.

I'll stick a pic on of mine when I get a sec'.

So me bushes are being eaten away by caustic oil & me clutch is prob' slowly drowning in injun oil on account of having no drain 'ole!

Landies, duntcha jest love 'em?

Yeah, apart from stalling. The actual reason why I stalled it (like anyone cares) was trying to take it in low box 4WD & not having room to get the clutch fully up before the big hole. Didn't want to just coast down it & shoulda just stayed in high range 2WD. S'what I did in the end & it was fine..........if a bit hairy..............ok, nearly rolled it & fair cacked meself!

Fun tho! :D

Still at least it appears you were the only one with the balls to take the direct route :)

No drain holes may well explain a dodgy clutch though.

How do V8's drain their bell ends then? Not that there's much in the way of bell shape between injun & gearbox.

There's only a judder when crawling away really slowly in first, but if it's down to clutch contamination I'm going to have to sort it somehow!
