Afternoon all!
Have been away for a while and tried to start the Land Rover yesterday and just got clicks. Popped the battery charger on overnight and this morning the engine is turning over but still not starting. Also the eyelet that goes over the battery terminal was starting to smoke and glow red hot if I tried for too long. No idea why she wont start, that's a bigger problem. But is it smoking because the terminal/eyelet is dirty? Does it just need a clean?
Apologies if my terminology for parts is wrong - I'm pretty new to all this!

If the terminal on the end of the cable is crimped on, it is highly likely the strands of wire are corroded, and the cable needs to be replaced, this is a common problem on a lot of vehicles and often melts fuse boxes on newer cars with high output alternators.
