Hi all 1998 county 90
The battery light doesn’t completely go out once started, there is still a faint red glow only really visible at night, is this a tell tale sign ? The vehicle is only just starting in the cold weather.
Can anyone help with this diagnosis.?
Many thanks in advance.

Have you tested the battery for output voltage disconnected and fully charged?

And have you tested the battery connected, and with engine off, and then with engine running, see if the voltage increases?

Thanks for swift reply, haven’t checked anything yet, I wondered if maybe it’s a sign that the alternator not working properly or something else. I’ll do as you suggest.
Thanks
Steve.

Do the voltage test, should get 14v+ engine running and be 12v or close stopped. It can be alternator letting some power through to lamp, often happens if it gets well wet.
Thought I had an issue with mine, turned out a speedo illumination bulb had fallen out of place.
