Hi I am new to this site so would like to introduce myself and also I have a problem. Last night Battery Light came on and Power steering would not work, on my TD4 Freelander. Any Ideas please? Does the belt running the alternator run the power pump as well? Could it be the belt?

Have you thought of actually looking under the bonnet?
Yes, it's probably the belt.
