Sounds like a faulty alternator or warning light circuit fault.hi, can anyone help, land rover discovery 200tdi,
my battery light comes on when i turn off the engine and the light goes out when i start it up but its drainning the battery over night , i have checked the wires on the battery and alternater.
Disconnect the warning light wire from rear of alternator and if light goes out see if connector on alternator is live, if so suspect the alternator.
If light stays on while disconnected theres a circuit fault, but to be honest it sounds like an alternator fault.
