Yes mate interesting program watch it all the time, was suprising to see a tdv6, basically has the same opinion as my machine shop, waiting with anticipation the rebuild mate, incidentally they use kings all the time, waiting to see what they say about the shell hole sizes, clearances etc going to be interesting, told you I need to get out more

Thought your good self would like this as well , also interesting I’ve seen remarks with regards to the make of crankshafts

Also found a few videos about genmot cranks , so never know this might be the solution with regards to using Dex cranks and not Genmot , of course need to see more proof about the Dex cranks

At the end of the day will be interesting to see what they find and what make of crank they use



 
Few pictures for you l/h bearings 170k discovery r/h is 100kish but not 100%, to be honest, the green is a coating worn through as you can see, also look at the edges you can see an equal marking to prove they were fitted centrally, well almost, this is where the lack of tabs comes in, not to stop spinning to centralize, also included pic of in situation pattern of wear is usually the same, also micrometer pic of one thin area of crank, many thanks for crank info looking into it would appreciate when I find one if you would give me your opinion before I pull the trigger all the best

Indeed looks like they’ve worn evenly and will be interesting to see what the general consensus is with regards to the Dex cranks and there quality , will also look into it with more detail to try and find out if there better than others

Also there seems to be less issue with jag and Citreon engines , often wonder if maybe the jlr engines have more torque and therefore put the engines under more strain ?

Will be it interesting to see his choice of bearing etc, not going to use OEM crank it seems, lot of choices available but I never really know what to make of them should you steer clear? Is a cheap crank reason at least some rebuilds break a second time?
