Hi guys

I have recently replace my suspension with a + 2" Terrafirma lift kit and my less than 12 month old rear prop is worn out and was ok when i greased it up when we fitted the Terrafirma suspension about 6-8 weeks ago, question is do i need to fit Bailey and Morris wide angle prop's or replace the suspension again with Britpart springs.

fitting BP springs is probably cheaper but don't want to loose my Terrafirma suspension so are the Bailey and Morris prop's worth getting :)

i use the bailet morris props on my 90, i grease them before i off road everytime, so approx every 3 weeks, upto now they have never let me down, its the amount of maintenance that matters

I had some cheepo #****part ones! they dropped to bits in about 2 months probs about 50 mile for me! I rebuilt them with gkn joints packed it full of Lucas oil red and tracky and they have bin fine ever since

Yeah i always keep them well greased but its the very first britpart prop that i have ever had a problem with, used them on all my series trucks in the past and now on my 90, i take it then the std props and a good + 2" lift the prop's would try and stop the axles from articulating ?

Mine are wide angle props, if I was to buy again I would go to someone like Gwyn lewis as the Britpart ones hve a plastic coating that rusts underneath and then the slider seizes. Mine does just get trashed around off road tho.

Have a good look at the prop and Uj I would think it would be obvious if it has been binding up,

Yeah we had been hearing a gingling noise last week but couldn't find what the problem was didn't check the prop's due to them being pretty new and only greased a few weeks ago but son works for an auto parts fitting place and decided to get it on the ramp at work and found it, front prop seemed ok but will probably end up replacing both prop's with wide angle ones.

when you say Britpart ones are you refering to std ones or wide angle ones :)

its just that its fooked my plans up for getting a disco 200 engine this next payday to re build and fit into my 90 but the prop's are more important atm :(

Im quite surprised to hear this. I was always under the impression that good standard props would handle up to a 2" lift.

The ones on ebay advertised as Bailey motris or GKN wide angle props sold by adventure 4x4 think is the company are just britpart props.
Mine lasted about 6months and am buying new ones now.

Warrior what UJs are you fitting in the britpart props please?
I couldn't find any that fitted.
Having to buy britpart UJs (DA6356) and straight away after fitting they have movement side to side. The Yokes arnt worn Its just very badly manufactured and don't fit right.

Mine came from adventure 4x4 and when I complained as they don't even last 1k I was told to basically **** off,

The ones paddocks sell are sold as Bailey and Morris ( Black ) which i am looking at @ £186 inc vat or Bailey and Morris ( blue ) @ £300 + no mention of Britpart  :)

Mine are black and are britpart

So are they BP shaft's with Bailey and Morris uj's

checked both prop's this morning and as son said the rear uj on the rear prop is goosed but the front prop is fine so will probably get some wide angle prop's when i next get paid :D

Ha i get paid in two weeks time so will buy a rear paddocks wide angle prop ( Bailey and Morris uj's ) to sort the rear prop out then buy the front one next month as i need to start getting the timber together for my mate making me a bench for my garage :D

A 2" lift shouldn't knacker the props, if you ujs are knackered replace them with GKN ones

Yeah tbh i think its probably just a bad Britpart prop but don't want to be changing them every 5 mins so i will fit wide angle ones and keep them well greased and see how i go :)
