2012 LR4 3 ltr engine. There is a bad leak on the left back side of the engine, I have removed the bottom covers and pressure cleaned the underside to locate the problem. It is coming down from above near the gear box housing, what is on that side where it would come from? The previous owner had previously fixed right side manifold. Have checked the oil cooler and filter on the top, no oil. Any thoughts on this latest problem? As the YouTube German Chappie keeps saying, should have bought a Toyota. I don't think so!

I dont know the 3ltr engine.
Our TDV8 4.4 had an oil leak only visible down the back of the engine, nothing to be seen from the top.
It was visible underneath only. (lefthand side if you look at the engine from the top front looking at it).

There is a pipe that has O rings that is prone to leak that is near the top back, but in our case it was the oil cooler in the V. As said I dont know the engine.
Not sure if @gstuart knows more hes our normal D3 goto, but he likes a challenge:D:D.

Problem Fixed: Had a young mobile mechanic willing to work on a Land Rover to replace oil cooler and do the
timing belts while he had it pulled to pieces. He found the cooler had been out before [had been resealed with silastic]
when the reputable Land Rover workshop had replaced the fuel pump. Also I got a refund from the spare part people
for the timing belt kit, as they had been replaced, evidently when they did the manifold gasket? Had rang about the
belts cooler ect to see if they had done any work on them to the assurances, they didn't. Found that they had in the
the invoices the previous owner had supplied. So will avoid LR dealers and use the mobile bloke, half the price anyway.

LR dealer workmanship is garbage in my experience.
I generally ignore LR history, as it's not worth the paper it's written on.
