Well, its been some time since Ive posted on here. House renovations and living the life of a pikey in a caravan for two years stopped play with the Rangie. It had developed an appetite for coolant which was getting a bit excessive. No leaks anywhere, more steam out the back than the Flying Scotsman and a very clean nr 4 plug pointed to a problem with that cylinder. It actually ran quite well once it had cleared but I couldnt go very far. Something had to be done so I bit the bullet and got the local garage to remove the heads for inspection. No blown gasket (wishful thinking) or cracked head but did find a cracked liner in nr 4. Not immediately visible but you could feel it, especially with a finger nail. One scrap engine and it had only done 77000 miles. Hunted around and bought a used but good engine complete from our good sponsors Emmotts. The first two or three hundred miles were a bit iffy with starting until the ECU relearnt things but now starts and runs like it should. Just have to sort out the blend motors, A/C radiator, stereo and fuel gauge and well be cooking with gas. At least its back on the road though. I missed it. (But not the fuel consumption
)
It's good to be back.
