Afternoon all,
Just wondering what you all use in your discos car seat wise for young children.
I have had a look at other posts on here but Halfords and Mothercare are a no go as could not help.
My daughter is 1 next week and I thought we would pop along to mothercare get the next size car seat ... no problem .... yeah, right. Nightmare.
Bog standard R reg disco tdi, as is my partners too. However, it appears it is a known issue car seats do not fit landrovers??? Really? Various ones were tried, either seatbelt way too short or actual buckle is not right for car seats as they are on fabric rather than rigid plastic? Both sides tried and same issue. Result no car seat. Someone out there must have child seat fitted in their disco, help! What do you use! I wont even go into the realms of needing the car seat to fit my series 3 landy lol
Many thanks
Lisa

Maxi Cosi Tobi - Child car seat reviews - Baby transport - Which? Baby & child

Hi,

We used this in the Disco from 1-4. Seemed fine in the front, sat better in the NS rear than the OS. We did get piles of stupid answers from the like of Halfrauds who said we should make some new seat belt mounts.

Hint, It's always a good idea to go to the Introduce Yourself section otherwise you'll have people taking the mick by saying things like "what's a baby seat"!!!

I use a silver cross isofix base with matching seat in mother's D2. Works a treat if you've got the isofix points. Much easier than arsing about with a seat belt everytime.

R Reg disco dun't have Isofix. But standard 3point belt should fit. it's no different from any other car seat belt?? I've seen loads of disco's with child seats in the back.

The wheel arch seat belt mounts sit to the side of the passenger/baby seat and not behind like the centre mounting points. That's okay(ish) for an adult but it means a baby seat can move sideways if not located firmly, especially on the OS as the centre mount allows the seat to rotate slightly.

We always fitted the seat on the NS and passed the socket part of the seat belt through the double seat to ensure the centre strap didn't move further to the NS.

Does this make any sense to anybody else?:confused::confused:

If you mean this bit Rob..

It does make it more difficult to fit a child seat, i normally thread the seat belt through and pull it tight, but still get a bit of movement side to side.
