Have just completed a full engine service on my Freelander2 TD4 2.2 diesel, ran ok first day now showing B100A-15 fault code?
Started to show signs of slow response to accelerator pedal, seems ok at high revs, just pick up at low revs?

Did you prime the fuel filter properly, also is your car battery fully charged these FL2 are a bit funny about a battery not being fully charged, does it have a DPF what year is the FL 2

Thanks for your response.
Yes fuel filter was correctly primed, as far as I know the battery was fully charged.
the FL2 is a 2011 HSE TD4 2.2 diesel and yes it does have a DPF, after completing the service it ran fine.
the next day while out in it, we where stuck in a traffic jam for about 1/2 an hour, it seemed to start after that.
Been out in it today and all seems to be ok, just concerned about it failing if we go any where in it.

Was a genuine filter used? There are known issues with aftermarket fuel filters, which seem to be missing the thermostatic valve inside, which sends hot fuel to the engine, causing the ECM to go into safety mode.
Only use genuine LR filters, or OE filters with the word Perflux on the top.

Thanks for your input, the filter I used was a Britpart filter, I will get a get a new LR filter and give that a go.
It was very hot the day it started to play up so that does sound like a possibility. I did check the fuel temp and it did go up very quickly.

I know it was a long time ago but did you find out what the problem was. We are getting the same fault code with a Body Control Module fault.

I used a Per-flux filter and after that the engine as running perfectly, I have serviced it again and used a new Per-flux filter and still running ok.
Still get the B100A-15 fault code but running fine so if not broke don't fix it!

Thanks for that I will try one.
I went out to check on the battery just now and it was showing only 9V and I know that is a big problem for Freelander 2s. Strangely enough it started which was a big surprise.
As soon as I revved it to near 3000 rpm it went into reduced engine performance.
I changed to this battery on 23rd March 1923
The battery I removed I kept and I charged it to 12.7 amp threw it into the boot of an old car plugged into a trickle charge solar panel, and forgot about it.
So tonight I thought I wonder how much this battery has deteriorated so I tested it.
It came back at 11.28 amp absolutely gobsmacked.
I have put it on charge and can't wait to see how much charge it has taken overnight.

Do you have a secondary earth cable fitted?
I fitted one from the neg terminal to one the starter motor bolts, seems to have cut out a lot of battery codes I that I was getting.

No, as far as I know there is no secondary earth. I shall investigate how to do that.
(To explain something, I have Vascular Dementia, officially at early development. Although I can tell you my recall is bloody awful. Our Landy is owned by my wife Anna. I am Paul Anna's husband. We bought the Landy because we wanted a vehicle which would last beyond my death.
I have a Do Not Recusitate on my medical notes This is because I want resources spent on young people or parents of young people not me).
The reason I was able to give you all the information about the old battery, and was able to do so, is because I have to make notes about everything.
I am investigating if this problem is about the battery not the vehicle. The problems we are having now are, not the same, but similar, to the problems we had when we changed the battery, which mostly went away with the new battery.
Like many of the comments I have seen the problems have been sporadic, and they show up as different faults some of which make little difference to the running of the vehicle, they are just faults which you can choose to ignore. But, and it is a big but, if the fault comes back as a fault which the vehicle decides it has to go into limp mode this is a huge problem, and cannot be ignored.
The readings from the old battery, which by the way got to:
11.86 volts and held at that level.
So what I am suggesting is, the battery is beginning to fail. The tests normally carried out will show a battery is able to run many vehicles will not run a Freelander 2.
My suggestion is this:
It's the battery which produces the problems.
If you check the battery it tell's you everything is ok.
The problem is, it is ok when you test it, but walk away and the vehicle concludes, actually it is not that OK at all.
What I am saying here is the old battery would, and will, start a vehicle and run it even though it will not run a Freelander 2. I could start and run many vehicles with the battery which in 15th Jan read 11.25

Thanks for that it helps a lot. The battery from 2 years ago has settled after charging to 11.3 volts and is staying there. I believe that would run an awful lot of cars without much of a problem.
The newer battery seems to be going the same way as the last one, so I am going to replace that as well as fit the secondary earth cable.
Next problem is what battery to fit.

FL2’s need a ‘good’ battery - they use them heavily and are known to create all sorts of issues if you don’t have a healthy one fitted. You’ll probably get 3 or 4 years max from a battery on an FL2 - and that’s if it is a good brand.

I fitted a Yuasa battery to mine a few months back - good brand.

Not sure on your FL age - if it has start/stop or not.

When I first got My Freelander I also had a lot of flat battery troubles, I fitted an HSB110 from Halfords with a 5 year warranty, still going strong 4 years later, has Freddie 17 states it seems you do need a good heavy duty battery, good luck.
