Hi,

I've got a 200tdi hybrid 90 (chopped from a 110), which was a 2.5 n/a diesel.

I've been advised to swap the axles from the current (10 spline?) one's to newer 24 spline ones for better durability. Firstly is this correct/advisable and secondly do I have to source defender axles or can I use discovery ones as well?

24 spline are off a classic Rangie, and yes, they will fit. Disco ones are most popular because there are so many around and they upgrade your rear brakes to disks.

If it started life as a 110 what back axle have you got? The 110 springs are a lot bigger than the disco or 90 ones so a straight swop is a headache. I'm thinking of the same thing for my 110 but need to figure out how to make the bigger springs from the 110 fit the seat on the disco axle.

****er yer missed out on that roof eh grips

One'll come up at a good price some time. No rush, it'd just be added to the pile of parts I haven't got around ter fitting at the mo' anyways!

Me motor'll look class if we get a dry summer, it'll still look like a dog come November if it's as wet as last year.

So, getting back to the topic......

24 spline axles are off classic range rovers, all discoveries (200/300/Td5), but which defenders where they on (if any?)!?

Only defenders that have 'em on are ones that have been swapped to Rangie axles. No factory defenders have them.

am i missing something in this one???
