After reading post after post about TD5 fuel economy, and being a little " obssesed " about it myself, I thought I,d try and compile a " MPG guide ".

What I basically need is to know what people put in their tanks from full to light on.

I dont know if the Discovery 2 had two sizes of fuel tank but I get about 18.7 gallons when I fill up from the light on.

All input would be greatly appreciated.

how much reserve is there though? wouldnt it be more accurate to work from full to half a tank maybe?

Had you run it well past the light coming on. ( I ran mine out and only got 19.5 gals back in it ).

You would have only had a couple of liters left in the tank .

Funny how the last time diesel was £ 1.20 a litre crude oil was around $ 130 a barrel.

Crude was $ 82 a barrel yesterday !!.

Discovery II TD5 has one size of tank - 95 ltrs. However that does not take into account the amount of additional fuel that you can put in, if you are patient, in the filler pipe.
