hi, does anybody know what the cut out speed is on the autobox/engin on a 2.5 dt auto when you rev it with your foot on the break?. im just trying to determin wether or not i have a worn out auto box.thanks.

The engine should stall (not increase engine speed, not stop) at 2800rpm I believe.

What leads you to believe you have a worn gearbox?

hi mate, just had a bit ov a wering noise lateley when u take your foot of the frotel. just wanted to test it.

Have you checked your output flange bearings, front and rear?

Some movement would indicate a large amount of wear, but it may make a noise on the overrun still without showing some movement.
