Hi all;
after a short absence am back in the fold. done the japs n back to a Landy. hope im forgiven.
does anyone know the procedure for getting the lights to work that illuminate around the gear shift on my discovery.

Thanks Wayne:)

if its a disco one, you can remove the little plastic surround and there is a bulb on each side, just take it out and replace :)

not sure about the disco 2

thanks Bobbler;-
yea its a disco 1 (97 P). sounds easy enough to do. dont want her indoors selecting reverse instead of drive, then saying I couldnt tell cos no lights.:doh:

Cheers Wayne

Piece of pi55 mate just done mine, the bulbs are same shape as side repeater ones.
Let us know if there's anything left of the illumination plate which the bulbs light up, mines fooked you can only just make out the gear selection

Hope everything is as easy as that going forward. Yeah as u say a piece of P***. suprisingly lights up really well, no problems seeing what gear in. Believe me thats most important with my missus:rolleyes:

Cheers Wayne

cool, it's the coating that's come off of mine leaving a lot of red/green light.
Looks kinda Dr Who though :) :D

Following this thread, I replaced mine today, easy job took 2 mins and i used 5w bulbs and the plastic gets a bit warm to the touch and that was in a ten min journey home :confused: will be keeping my eye on it.

Nice to see it lit up though for the first time :D
