Do check it has been properly filled with ATF, if the torque converter isn't filled it won't do naff all. It can only be filled with engine running and after having been moved through all the gears held in each for a couple of seconds. Then left in P. Even longer if the torque converter wasn't full on fitting.
Who fitted it?You may also need to to check the XYZ switch is properly aligned. But the engine won't start unless it reads P or N properly. Provided it is all wired up right.
Foxwell is cheaper than Nanocom and does much the same.
