hi guys

I've had discos for the past 10yrs and had my current 2000plate Td5 (85,000) for 4yrs. The auto box has recently started doing something wierd

It was unning normally up until last week, but then on a run it started revving much higher than usual before changing up. Then on the motorway got stuck in 3rd and just refused to budge up into 4th. I pulled over, restarted the engine and the auto box reverted to normal i.e. not revving as high and shfiting into top gera without any arguements.
Since then it's done the same thing 2 or 3 times, clearing the problem if i restart the engine

any thoughts!!

cheers

Er, haven't I seen this post already?

I don't know about the Bedford CF, but when I was learning to drive my dad had a CA camper van..it had a three speed column change...that was fun...one of these for those too young to remember Google Image Result for http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/22/Bedford_CA.jpg/250px-Bedford_CA.jpg
What a strange little cut-down monster. My second car was a CA Dormobile Utilabrake. Wooden floor and, by the time it died, largely wooden chassis. And some berk had fitted the wrong backaxle, so the three-speed revved a bit fast!
To keep this ever-so-vaguely on topic, I'm reminded of it evry time I see my mates Series IIA LWB Dormobile conversion. Wrong colour though, and the 'brake didn't have a lifting roof. And you always KNEW there was one coming because of the front bumper rattle. Liked column changes - failed my first driving test on an Austin Zummerzet.:):):)

@Wilf. Get in on some diagnostics when it happens next and see what the fault codes are.
