Hi guys anyone have any ideas about the green flashing mode lights when i go from park to drive or reverse to drive unless i change really slowly, and when flashing very low power. I have just done oil and filter change on gearbox but it was doing it before thats why i did the service on the gearbox. Thanks in advance. Sorry should have said its a disco 2

If its the m&s lights flashing . This can offen be triggered by a low battery , as the auto boxes brain is very fussy about vottage , check your battery put it on charge over night or start it up and leave in park and hold it at higher revs for a while then turn off and restart . If light dont come on take it for a good drive at least 20 minutes or more to give the battery a good charge up ,

If it involves reverse it is the mode selector switch also known as xyz switch.

Reverse is a plunger all others are sliders so occasionally reverse is slow to connect and the ecu brings up a fault.

Easiest way to deal with is always reverse in and drive out!

Codes can be cleared on the fly as well

Thanks guys dont think its the battery, if its the xyz switch is this easy to change ? sorry for being a bit thick but what does clear it on the fly mean?

There are some faults which require a code reader to clear the stored fault indications and other faults which will clear the indications once the defect has been repaired and the vehicle is driven at normal road speeds again.

Flashing m+s lights are an indication given by the electronic automatic transmission ecu that it has detected a fault in the automatic transmission and lack of power is its response as it locks the gear box in third gear, limp home mode.
I would have the fault codes read to rule out a mechanical fault and point you in the right direction.
