At long last the immobilised P38 roars back to life.!
Previouisly it was reversed into by a suicidal fiesta. After the front bumper was replaced, the alarm would go off when locking it with the remote, either one would be the same. Then it immobilisaed itself!
Off to LR or was it micky mouse? Diognosis was Becm. £800 if done.
Then you guys all helped and got to a a stage where it was not the ECU or Becm. I am not able to dig around inside but the Isle of Wight does certainly lack experience of these vehicles. A client of mine owns a garage and had spent oodles of dosh on new electricary kit and also had a LR guy start. So after 4 weeks with them we got:
a new battery ( the old one was 10 months old, going back!) New rear air bags on the suspension. AND a faulty/loose connection on the ECU!
So only 18 weeks of withdrawal simptoms and a £1300 bill. So off to the insurance co now to reclaim the dosh. Oh, and the Pru engineer over here said it was undeniably old age, (94) So beware engineers for insurance cos.
Many thanks to all who helped.
