[FONT=Tahoma, sans-serif]Or so I thought when I saw a 1985 90 for sale just around the corner from my house. I had always liked the idea of one, but (being poor and tight) have always asked myself "do you need it, or just want it?"

The snows last winter, together with the need for my wife to be in work, provided me with just the excuse I needed.

Luckily I have some technical ability, having served an engineering apprenticeship and owned a bike (first was a Francis Barnett, with the Villiers engine) which needed rebuilding on a regular basis.

Currently I am just starting to overhaul a 200TDi which I picked up on Ebay. My plan is to fit this in place of the current 19J, although I have grown to like the old lump - very reliable and non-fussy. A leak from the crank seal means that it does need working on, hence the 200. I've been told the drive is better with the newer engine, and to be honest I am really enjoying getting stuck into some proper engineering again.
