Hi all, just a quickie... as the title asks! Im in the process of replacing a cracked head on my disco 300tdi, just wondered if the pair were the same.

Any help welcome. Cheers all!

Surely a 300Tdi is a 300Tdi ..... only the chassis is different

well thats what i thought but i read somewhere that the one in the disco has a bit more power than the defender, Im guessing they may do this by way of different sized valves etc and as im changing the head just wanted to make sure!
This may be complete boswallaks but better to know for certain

300 tdi heads are the same so are 200tdi heads for disco rrc or def,obviously 300 and 200 different

Part numbers for both the disco and defender 300TDI engine is exactly the same. The disco goes faster cos it has a different ratio transfer box, but the heads are identical

I think def was 107bhp and disco was 111bhp and its only going to be a twiddle on the pump to achieve this weeny difference.
