Bought an Ardcase pedal lock...proceeded to fit it, making sure that the pedals fit into the cut recesses, closed the front lid but struggling to turn the key in the lock. Anybody else had any issues?

No.
I would call or email them. The internals of the lock might be at fault, or the wrong key might have been packaged. In which case no end of filing the key is going to help!
