New owner of a 89 bronco with a 5.8 V8 and 3 speed auto transmission
factory.
If I try to put an aod transmission from a 90 bronco will I need to
change the rear end gears also, or are they the same. Any information
will be helpful.

The only real functional differance is the final drive gear, a .71 overdrive.
That's the whole point. 1-3 are essentially the same.
If your goal is better fuel mileage and fewer rpm's on the highway, leave the
gears alone. If your goal is better low end torque, better towing, and better off
road performance, drop the rear gear ratio.
