Screen has broke on original radio, so removed it to fit aftermarket one but now it has been disconnected it is asking for code but I cannot see the screen to enter it! Is there any combination of buttons to bypass it like a factory reset kinda thing?

Cheers

A. How do you know its asking for a code if the screen is broke?

B. If there was a way to get round the code do you think its a good idea to post it on an open forum so that tea-leaves can then steal radios and not need a code?

C. Bin it if its broke.

Cause it's not playing any music lol, and okay sorry.

If you have the code then just count as you press the buttons, even though you cant see the display you should be able to re-code it..then hit the enter.

Right, on my radio i have buttons 1 to 6. Yet the code includes a 0 and a 9, what is the format of coding it?

Can someone guide me how to do it blind?

Hello storm
new boobs?magnifico, like it more than the old one!!!

Is your code 6 numbers long?

Normally it shows _ _ _ _ _ _ on the display after the battery has been off.

Each number corresponds to a button.

So if code was 1 2 3 4 5 6 you'd press button one once, button two twice and so on. I think 0 is ten presses...but it could be one...then 1 would be two presses and 2 three etc...sorry if i've explained that badly!

You're gonna need one of the rangie boys or their butler matey..i'm a tratter boy, our radios have on/off loud/louder.

hard work without screen. if its a clarion the 4 digit code is entered by simply pressing the corresponding radio preset numbers. if you get the code wrong, holding down the BAND button for 3 seconds resets and allows you to re-enter the code. if you get it wrong 3 times you get a lock-out. in theory, after 30 minutes you will be allowed to input the code again. i say in theory because it happened to me and the radio stayed locked out. the only option now is to send it in to someone clever who will charge 80 quid to reset and "refurbish" it. i'd love to know if there was way to bypass the lock-out, thieves be damned. no one's going to steal the factory radio from a p38.

on most radios button one first number press once 0 press again 1 press again 2 and so on then when you have first number you press button 2 the same once for 0 twice for 1 three times or 2 hope that helps

oh i get you, then button 3 then button 4, thankyou and yes i did storm but was slightly confused and thought after your last post that it didn't apply thanks for the help guys

hmm. on mine (and i've had two) all the digits are below 6. say it was "1532", i literally press the numbers 1, 5, 3, 2. must be a different radio you have. mine is the clarion PRC7618, LR part number PU9836.

not having much luck, will have to invest in a new radio altogether and hopefully that will work :/
