My 1985 Range Rover 3.5 V8 needs a new head gasket fitted, and when the head is off, is there anything else I should do ? Valve clearances or anything ?

youve got hydraulic tappets so that will take care of adjustment ,check underside of rocker shaft,lap valves in ,

Decoke and grind valves seats, that's what i use to do when i removed a head.

change the rubber valve seals
