Morning,

The engine light on the Wife's Freelander TD4 keeps periodically coming on. It has also started to idle rather erratically when left stationary for a while.

I have read that the best way to solve the issue is to hook up an engine diagnostic tool and see if there is an associated fault code. I have seen a unit on ebay for £60, but I would rather try and hire one if possible.

Anyone in North Dorset who would be either willing to hire or to put one on the vehicle for me?

Thanks

Hi

I don't have on to hire but if you only want to read the fault codes, look on eBay for elm327 Bluetooth obd2 reader. They are less than a fiver and you can download the software you need on your phone. Works with iOS or android. I've got one and never need the more expensive tool. Reads all the FL1 fault codes and tells you what they mean 99% o the time. Any it doesn't give details about are only a quick Google away.

Hope this helps

Ian
