Sorry of Course.

Tim from Bondi NSW Australia have a 76 Series 3 short wheel base Land Rover trying to get it back on the road. Had t pull the gearbox out to fix a clutch lever and slave cylinder through the floor. Putting it back in and found these in the bolt box. Can't remember using the Allen Key and don't know where this bolt comes from. There are two of them ?

I would say most likely not off a landrover series.
What size thread is it? might give you an idea of age.

Hi Tim, I have been fixing Land rovers for over fifty years and have not seen anything like that on a series. No Allen key fittings on them when new anyway. Cheers, John.

Difficult to gauge size but it looks a bit like a sump plug.
The bottom pic' showing the inner face with the 'protrusion' reminds me of a seat belt bolt.
The shape is designed to fit in bracket to stop the mounting turning when secured.
That said, I agree with others, not seen an Allen head on a Series of that age.
Let us know if you find out.
