I am planning a 10-14day trip down to morocco at the beginning of July 2010. At the moment I am just at the initial planning stage however I am not 100% keen on doing it on my own/with the missus.
it would probably be a lot easier to plan and implement with a few people. I will be taking my disco 300tdi which I am at present kitting out.

Let me know if you are interested, if no one wants in I may go down on my own or settle for Bournemouth this year.

Go by yourselves. the rewards outweigh "strangers" company and your more likely to interact with the locals and get under the skin of Morocco.

Unless your planning on staying in the north I would try to go earlier than June or September/October. It will be roasting in June which may cause problems for your 300tdi.

Do they struggle a bit then in the heat then?
This trip is a test run for a much bigger trip down to Kenya next year; I need to make sure I can hack a long journey.
Looking at the trip itself what is a realistic time frame to get down to marrakech spend three or four days down there and then get back.

Going to have a look at your slideshow now.

Cheers,

Depends on what ferry, how you drive, sharing driving.

IIRC we managed to get to Ceuta in 3 days. Bilbao ferry, 1.5days through Spain and afternoon ferry over to Africa.

Add another 2 long days for marrak.

Its a long way to drive to spend 3-4 days in an overcrowded/tourist city just to drive back. In fact, it will be a killer!
