I have a TD5 dash to retrofit to my Tdi (once I figure out all the wiring stuff) and want to make sure all the lighting is nice and consistent.

I'll be keeping the speedo and clock (if there is one), adding some VDO gauges (not sure what colour light those are).

Also has anyone changed their dash lights to red by any chance?
Might be better for night vision...

In an ideal world I'd have a button to colour cycle but that might be a tad too much to ask.

So there's a sticker in the recess that the bulb suits in (so in front of the bulb) eh?
So just like the Tdi setup.

Ah so I gather that's green, so staying green?

This was my dash before the rebuild. The speedo, fuel gauge, and temperature gauges all have LEDs fitted to the TD5 version of the gauges. The battery gauge is one of the “old style” and has a different type of LED in. All the LEDs are white in colour, but the ones in the TD5 gauges are a slightly warmer (more orange) white than the battery gauge.

I doubt that you can make any significant colour change and still have readable gauges.

It is possible to change colour/s using coloured LEDs but these need to be good quality ones, ideally with a brightness adjustment [potentiometer type]. As per another post, the only company I know supplies these is BetterCarLighting. They also have soft glow LEDs that give crystal clear gauge lighting but with a softer glow. It might be worth a good look here

I quite like the ice blue bulbs for the Jaguars

ps these LEDs are more expensive than most, especially the Chinese cheapos. It's be worth call Gil Keane and talking through what you're after.
ps2 I think Gil could sell lots of good quality LED dashboard/interior upgrades if he put together a kit list for our LR models, even the Series.
