I'd like an "expedition" type roof rack for my P38, but the cheapest I can find are £1500 odd, and I'm not spending that!

I have the roof rails (and cross bars for what that is worth) and I'm sure someone could knock something up for me a hell of a lot cheaper than the ones I've seen.

All it needs are some side rails that wrap around the rear, a mesh base and some way of clamping it onto the rails.

Any ideas anyone?! I'm not averse to doing it myself, but my welding isn't exactly great, and it was about 10 years ago that I last did any metal work!
