Don't think it is an original.

No internal cage. Winch bumper, roof rack and roof spot lights all look wrong to me.

It could be original, but as Andy says, the parts look like they are not original. Most of the vehicles got stripped of bits prior to being sold so sourcing original equipment used on the Camel(toe)rofy can be difficult.

If anyone is interested I suggest running the chassis number and number plate through the CT owners club to check its a genuine vehicle before spending out what you might think its worth.

Doesn't look right. Lots of little things, as Andy says. Too good to be true, as they say ...

Had another look at it and at a DVD I have, and the roofrack is completely wrong and it should have an internal rollcage at the bare minimum!

It's NOT a Camel trophy Discovery.

CalVIN came up with this:

SAL Manufacturer code: Land Rover
LJ Model: Discovery, 200 Series (1989-1994) or 300 Series (1994-1998)
G Wheel base: 100 inch
M Body type: 4-door station wagon (LWB)
F Engine type: 2.5 litre Tdi diesel, model 11L (200Tdi) or model 16L (300Tdi)
7 Steering and transmission: Right-hand drive (RHD), 5-speed manual (LT85, LT77, LT77S, R380 or other)
K Model year: 1993
A Assembly location: Solihull, UK
064208 Serial number

incase anyone was really interested. Just because it doesn't have a cage, does not mean its not a gen. CT. They event had many promo, recce, support vehicles of varying spec. I agree that rack, winch, bumper are all wrong, but like i said, the genuine stuff is usually taken off prior to sale.

I had a look round it a few weeks back (Saw it parked in a car park so i decided to have a look :)) and it is VERY clean.

I did not think it was orginal, Winch is wrong, No cage, Wrong Roof rack and lights ect ect

I have heard of Jap Camel trophy Landys that were shipped over there as Demo's to try and make the Japanese buy some Discoverys. Which i think this could be?

i just looks wrong its a copy of one there were many more copys than there were original vehicles.

also have the ponder the fact that the seller has a minimal history on ebay - it's not uncommon for peeps to buy a few cheap items - thus getting 100% FB and then offer a very pricey item for sale at what appears to be a bargain price

Erm is it just me but isnt the interior 300tdi spec? Didn't see many or any to my knowledge on a L reg with that interior. As said Tmax winch its far too clean to be true although most were rebuilt after the events.

No it's 200 spec interior .. at least the dash is and radio placement and central switch panel etc etc .. ;)

It's just so sparkly clean ...

Just go a reply from the guy when I asked "What makes you think it's an actual Camel trophy Discovery? Looks to me like the roofrack is wrong, there should be an internal roll-cage and most of the other 'bits' aren't pukka Camel trophy kit."

His reply ...

"It was made by Landrover as a Promotional Vehicle. It was not used in the event itself."

Which doesn't, to my mind, make it a 'real' Camel Trophy Disco.
