I am personally new to Land Rover however I know a few owners who have highlighted build quality and reliability issues. I am about to embark on the purchase of a Range Rover Sport - either 3.6 TDV8 or Supercharged. The running costs are less of an issue given I currently run a 5.0 M5 and a 5.0 R8.

The objective of the vehicle is to cater for my daughters hobby of horses and as such a new vehicle is not required but I am particular on running a vehicle.

I am seeking the advice and guidance on what to service (regardless of apparent history) from initial purchase to provide me peace of mind and assurance. I will undertake a full service but are their elements outside of this I should review and have completed?

Thank you for your support and I look forward to sharing my ongoing ownership reviews with the forum.

You cannot purchase peace of mind with a Range Rover, they are mutually exclusive. If you want a 4 x 4 that lets you sleep at night get a Toyota.

True. Moreover, an old school friend bought one to tow his speedboat and the gearbox didn't last a year. Now, could be coincidence but he didn't think so. He got shot of it PDQ afterwards.

Lovely car when I went in it, mind.
