1984 110 CSW

Hi,

I have just brought a 1984 Land Rover Defender 110 factory V8, I am probably asking a question that has plagued the V8 owner ever since we hit the current state of fuel prices. In an attempt to try and get a bit more mpg out of my beloved 110 would anyone have any information on fitting a Fairey Overdrive to a 4 speed V8 LT 95 gearbox? Are there any kits that would be compatible with this gearbox that are still available? Also any manuals or any literature on how to fit one to the aforementioned gearbox would would be much appreciated!!

Many Thanks

Piers

there are some around not difficult to fit but make sure you get lever and bracket and gear to swap on rear of mainshaft with it ,,you have to remove a snap ring and rear mainshaft gear and swap it for one with overdrive ,or you can fit later 12c rr high gears about £100 ish new .9962 to 1,simply enough job with box in vehicle
