I have been conned! Ryan Air and their "low" cost flights, I have booked travel for me, my missus and my mate with them, and now they want £50 each way to get mine and her skis on the plane.
I am sure there must be a cheaper alternative but I'm stuck. I've looked at DHL and Royal Mail, they are in excess of £100 each way unfortunately.
Anyone got experience with this? I did want to drive, and I did want to camp, but the ball and chain, along with low cost flights sent me the other way. And apparently you can't chuck skis in the hold as luggage... so I turn here for any help anyone can offer... This is for late January for a week, so I have some time on my side to play with.

£50 for two sets of ski's seems reasonable to me. Obviously didn't read Ryanairs T&C's.

It's based on weight and as luck would have it, our skis plus boots and poles equate to 19.something kilos as the weight limit is 20kg before the price goes up.
I swear when I was younger it was about £30 though, just wondering where this random price increase seems to have come from. Nope, missed that section!

When I was younger, you could buy a new house for £6500, nothing stays the same, it's called economic growth:rolleyes:

when i was younger, it cost over £200 to fly to paris, a lot more to the ski slopes, i think it's you taking the ****

when I was younger my first pickup was $3017.20 now they are $32,000. Where the hell did the random prices increase come from.

depressing, but until the govt start paying popstar wages to soldiers, it will be cheapskate from me! Though this debacle may convince the other half driving doesn't seem all that bad or expensive after all...
