Another forum I used to frequent introduced a like button on peoples posts, where users could click it if they liked a post. Simple, just like Facebook. It proved very popular indeed and I thought it might be a nice addition to LZ and could also create a mini competition to see who has the most likes.
I believe both LZ and this other forum both run on Vbulletin so not sure how easy it would be to implement.
Anyone else interested in this?

Be better to have a ****y nana button.

D4x4 have a 'thank you' button......I'm not sure it was used responsibly by visiting LZers :D

I don't do Faceplant, what is the point to a like button. Do you get clubcard points or some such benefit.

But if you like someone's post why not put in the effort to say so.
If it made you laugh there are enough emoticons.

I think that the last thing that we need is an even easier way for post whores to up their count.

That's my say, now I'm off back to word association.

Like :D

One example is that if someone posts up a very good how to then rather than have another 3 or 4 pages with people saying great write up cheers, we could just have 30 or 40 people liking the original post. Or another is if someone posts something that you find funny, we could 'like' it as opposed to quoting and replying that 'we've just spat coffee all over our keyboards' which is nonsense.

Also if someone searches for a how to (a rare occasion sometimes it seems) then the one with the most likes will go to the top and the rest in descending order I.e the most popular and helpful one will have the most likes so should be at the top whereas with the current search that isn't the case.

Oh and I don't do Facebook, can't stand it.

I still think its a good idea. Had a look at that other thread, I wouldn't liken it to facebook as other forums have it too. Plus Facebook's ****e and LZ isn't so there

f**k me, i thought this was a forum for immature adults, not 12 year old girls.

if you agree use the :5biagree:
if you "like" something use this: :5bhurray:

job done.
