Hellooo again.

One of mi next jobs is to possibly renew/mend mi sills. The sills are rusty and you can see daylight thru them (not huge amounts). They are no different now to two months ago when it passed it's mot.

So, should I use chequer plate or more steel or what? Has anyone done the job and how successful has it been?

(I feel like a Landrover student ! )

;)

The sills aren't an mot point. To replace them its a case of grinding (Yes, grinding) the majority of nut/bolt heads off cos they're gonna be corroded to buggery. Replacement is easy, you should find some replacements easily enough as well.

Regards WP.

not chqeuer plate! thats a BIG no no! unless you have the chqeuer plate windscreen to go with them

Not posh at all. Just poseurish, and for big fat gay puffs!!!!!!

Unless it's for standing on. Like wing tops when your changing your diesil spark plugs.

I don't like chequer plate. My defender has chequer plate on wing tops and sills and little bits on the bumper. It came like that. It is poseurish. It does turn heads - but so does the Series 3 for different reasons and it has no chequer.

You can get new sills off a broken up vehicle cheap enough.

i have to ask........why? if the veehickel is broken up, why would it have new sills on it?
