Just purchased a 66 series 2a 88 SW with a petrol engine that was supposedly converted from diesel. It has sat for over 20 years. It does appear to have a new head gasket [ shiny] I just got it running. It did have clean oil on dipstick. After running and driving it around my field I noticed slimy oil when removing fuel pump. I then checked dipstick oil is foamy and appears to have oil in radiator. Is there anything else to look at besides head gasket. Maybe was not put together correctly found numerous other things that were wrong. Never owned a range rover before so a lot to learn. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

What is it you've got a Landrover s2a or a Range Rover different beasts but both fun..

I have similar problem on 2oo5 freelander 1. Oil in coolant reservoir. Car still runs fine but wonder ..for how long. And why.

If the head gasket has been changed, have the head bolts all been tightened to the correct torque. They usually need checking a couple of hundred miles after the gasket change.
