I currently have another strange issue which i managed to narrow down to something related to the ace.

I have what sounds like a friction noise. It comes up when the car starts to warm up a little when cornering and when it is fully warm it is a constant sound. It sounds like a backplate scratching or a bearing on its way out but i finally narrowed it done to the ace as it goes away when i pull the ace relay out! (Dont ask me how i why i tried it, was getting desperate!)

Now i thought the ace was in a good condition. In the last couple of years i replaced all the hoses (genuine high pressure), both rams, and all the bushes.

Today i replaced the pump to check if it was the problem but it is the same!

Any ideas?

It might be something connected to the actuators or anti roll bars cos if you remove the relay there's no activity so it means that the noise comes only when they are in action and some additional force is applied to the bars, not easy to find i suppose

It is a vibration?

Or a sort of hum?

Could be pipes vibrating
Missing damper in new pipe
Just pump noise
Mine makes a very low noise on hard cornering
Hose converted

its almost like a scratching noise, had a similar noise when a wheel spacer came a little loose and the wheel was touching the brake plate a little bit. the high pressure pipe is genuine and (should) have the valve. anyway, dont think its the issue because the the pipe has been in place for a couple of years.

in my mind i have 3 possibilities:
1. a sticking/blocked solenoid in the valve block.
2. a defect in one of the (new, although britpart) actuators
3. a pipe which is rattling... i did replace all shocks recently so that might have disturbed the pipes as they pass by the turret

i must say this is really testing my patience lol but after the 1200+eur spent on repairing the system, getting rid of the ace now would make for a really bad financial decision (even worse than buying a land rover in the first place). i also dont have any evidence that it is going to actually fail.

i ll try to prepare and fit a spare valve block i have laying around and see if it changes anything.

aircon compressor is brand new. im 99.999% sure that its something to do with the ace as it goes away when i remove the ace relay

OK, so noises from the system can be,

Duff damper causing a sort of pump hammer.
Pipes rattling.

On mine I can hear something a bit like a groan when cornering hard, but no scraping.

listening to it again, it sounds almost like a wet belt, checked the hoses to makes sure everything is ok. a buddy driving behind me also noticed that it is leaning slightly and im getting an intermittent fault related to accelerometer readouts too different so today i cleaned the plug of the lower accelerometer and checked the cables under the coolant reservoir and the connector to the module. this fault comes on maybe 1 out of 10 times i start the car, doesnt matter if im parked on flat ground or not. I ran the bleeding procedure and recalibrated the sensors, havent done it since but did not take it for a proper drive yet.

im also preparing a spare valve block i had stored, will replace the solenoid o rings and fit it, see if it makes a difference!

dayco ones are fine but last one i put in... i doubt it was dayco. anyway, ill test the valve block theory first since that it read for install and i want to test it anyway after tapping the new fittings in
