I was looking at 90s on eBay at work (but on my mobile because eBay's on the banned list) and I came across this:

Land Rover Defender 90 Diesel 3.5 V8 Auto Petrol Engine

(sorry I can't make it a link).

It looks a bit on the whiffy side to me. What makes it all the more dodgy for me is the fact the guy refers to it a a Jeep on several occasions. Any (and I think I speak for 99% of Land Rover owners) self respecting Landy owner would rather eat a dog tod than refer to his (or her) landy as a Jeep (please imagine me spitting this word)!

Also if you check his recent feedback, you'll see that he's had a few sets of plates made up in the last 6-12 months.

If this listing is yours and it is genuine, please accept my sincerest apologies.

same mpg as the diesel engines???? what is that bloke on?

it also says diesel in the title, and yet its running a 3.5 v8 on EDELBROCK carb, so its petrol

i think its genuine, i also think the seller is a bit of a pleb

The bloke's feedback is a nightmare though. Don't like the look of the car either, bit blingy for me ;)

So..locally advertised at 3995..he let it go for 2900...i'd go bust selling like that..

Looks a decent enough motor. Obviously you would need a good look underneath. Looks clean from the outside tho.

it's been relisted.

And as said if it gets same MPG as a 2.5td (the std engine for an 89) I'll dance naked on thee bonnet in a snow storm

could do with a laugh!post pictures please

only if it makes 25 to 28mpg on a run. or 22/23 round town.

Is it me or does it look like it's had a disco gearbox fitted.. ?? gear lever looks a bit far back. But then I int seen any auto 90's before so maybe they look like that???
