Hi All,

Great site.

I have recently aquired a 1985 pickup, 2" lift and modified exhaust, fitted with sump guard and a few other bits and bobs.

Previously owned a Series 3, 300 TDI, Series 2A, Discovery 3 and now have a Freelander 2 and the 1985 90 :D

Live in Holmfirth (West Yorkshire) and looking forward to the tears and joy of owning the new 90.

Not sure of the engine, think its a 200TDI, first thing is to try and reduce the smoking (bkue smoke, lots on start up and when revving hard).

I was told the engine had been 'tweaked' and I have seen on some posts that this can cause smoking but I'm not sure what 'tweaked' means or how to untweak it?

I rebuilt my 2A and know a bit about the petrol engines but dont have any experience of messing with diesels so any help or advice re smoking would be welcome.

Steve
