A guy I know brought his S111 SWB petrol to me to have a look at why the oil pressure light wasn't working. I tried earthing the wire and sure enough the light came on, coming to the obvious conclusion the switch is U/S.

Off to the local specialist for a new one (britpart!!) went to fit it and the threads wouldn't engage. Have I got the wrong part? are there imperial and metric versions what could be wrong? the part number on the bag was correct, so it was all a bit of a mystery.
Measuring the threads with a calliper the new one was 0.5mm larger O/D than the old one although offering the two up it looked like the threads were the same.

I went back to the dealer and discussed the issue, he got another one off the shelf, same bag, same number but it was the correct size and fitted perfectly.

BRITPART :frusty::crazy:

Just as well ya didn't. The alarms, sprinklers and phone system would have either not worked at all or failed within seconds of been used.. :D
