Hi Mates,
I must be going mad here or Ebay vendors for Landy electric conversion kits are. I have a 1997 2 door 300tdi station wagon. I have to convert the windows to electric but everyone seems to be contradicting them selves or have no idea about models, years and types. I installed a kit on an TD5 and it worked like a charm.
Now I am looking for a kit and all the description for the years seems out of wack. To me, I could be wrong, the X type scissors type are for 2002 and up and the other with a straight peice and two others attached seems like the 2001 and down.
This guy has his listed for all most all the defenders from 1995 to 2011..seems to be wrong to me

Can you guys please tell me whats going on here, before I love my hair? Where can I get a leccy window regulator for my 1997 300tdi landy please. Thanks Mates.

I'm about to do the same thing myself. Apparently there is only one kit available and it can be made to fit the earlier type doors with some minor modifications to the doors. A quick search revealed that some metal has to be cut out of inner part of the doors and can be easily done.

Oh..since you said you were about to do the same thing, I thought you had all the info or had bought it already. Let me know if you found the info..seems many claim that it will fit from 95 on wards, not sure if there are parts in the kit which allows you to install it from 95 on, highly doubt. I installed a kit on a TD5 and it worked really well.
 
I tried to have a quick look last night but didn't find it. I found a site saying that it will fit with minor modifications but that particular site did not specify what modifications were required. To be quite honest, I didn't give it much thought as I know of many people who fit universal electric windows to defenders with no problems so I thought that a kit made specifically for defenders albeit requiring minor modifications should not be too difficult either.

Hi Reiny, thanks for the link and your efforts. I spoke with them, confirmed the mods needed, created an account was trying to place the order and now calling to confirm the shipping address. I am having it shipped to London so someone can bring it here for me....
If you wish, I can do the installation and let you know the mods I had to make..which landy do you have by the way?

Hi Barbados,
My 90's a 1989 model fitted with a 300tdi and R380. It shall be going in for a makeover at the end of January and I'll get the electric windows done at the same time. I won't be doing the installation myself though.
