hi Ive got a disco 11 td5 auto im currently living and working in sweden the problem is there is a noise/vibration/ rattle(its hard to explain its a bit of all three)it only happens when driving between 2000 to 2200 rpm in any gear and in high and low box, when its making the noise you can feel it through the handbrake im not sure of the name but bolted to the front of the handbrake drum ive been told its a balance plate it was loose I got a garage to tighten it I believe they had to slacken bolts on the handbrake to get to the bolts on the balance plate this cured it for a couple of months but now its back and it all seems to be tight nothing loose could it be something in the handbrake has anyone else had this problem this is my first landy and im loving it but the vibration is driving me nuts. How big a job is it to work on the handbrake if it is that and do I need any special tools as the garages here are way too expensive to get work done:confused:

If the propshafts have been off...?

I read somewhare about the propsahfts being harmonised, you could put some tipex on it to mark it's original position then whip it off turn it through 90degrees and try again. do this a couple of times with a test drive in between would rule that out.

someone may be able to elaborate on the harmonisation thing....

Actually... after reading your post again. If it always happens at the same revs, and is not gear dependant - then it's possibly not the propshafts.
