Hello all. Since about October of this year I have had the HDC and ABS light showing on my dashboard. I initially replaced the ABS sensor, which cleared the lights for a wee while but they came back on. Then after a little bit of reading I swapped out the brake light switch but they are still on. Is there a correct way for the connectors to go on on the brake light switch or are they universal? I couldn't remember which way they came off when it came to fitting them again. When I use the code reader it is still saying there is a fault with the ABS. Could it be that it isn't installed correctly? It was the front drivers side sensor that was changed. I've tried to include as much information as possible but if there is anything I have missed please let me know.

My Freelander is a 1.8 petrol.

Many Thanks.

Would Hawkeye be able to pick anything like this up?

The hawkeye can tell you what sensor is responsible for the lights, as you know.
You can double check with a multimeter, but you shouldn't need to really.
If you want to double check, then there are some perfectly acceptable Digital Multi Meters (DMMs) on Amazon for under £20. ;)
