Wondering if anybody knows of a FIREWALL access in a Chevy Tahoe?

It's a 1997 4x4 - 1500.

Installing an amp for a 10 meter radio and also , any advice on where
to power from , I was thinking straight from the battery would be
fine? Any advice listened to and thanks group!

Accellerator and brake linkages have to go through somewhere...

(RF amp I guess)

If you tap straight from the battery, be sure you use an inline fuse.

One problem I see with that plan -- how would you turn it off? You don't
want to amplify nothing all night and have a dead battery in the morning.

not any good spots on the passenger side of the firewall unless you
want to dirll a hole. there are a few cables that pass through the
firewall on the drivers side that are not to bad to gain access to.

There are a number of people who make mini circuit panels that you
could run off the batery that are fused. Check out some of the car
stero stuff.

The car stero stuff is good...basically connect it up and forget about
it. Check out crutchfield for one source, or some of the car wiring
places on-line.

The simplest way would be to run a wire directly from the battery with
an in-line fuse out to the amp. I assume the amp has an on-off
swtich.

Maybe he should tell us what it's supply draw at full output is - for a
relay arrg't it might involve a hefty contactor or a rethink of using
one? Fusible link instead for a high-current supply?

Hi, I don't profess to be any type of a pro on installing, or posess
any great knowledge about aftermarket audio systems in vehicles, but I
kinda think a direct hook-up to the battery is unwise.

My best recommendation is to find a local automotive audio shop in your
area that does installations, and speak to them about your intentions,
what you wish to do, and generally, their advice will always be free,
and will be able to give you some guideline rules.

And no, I don't believe you will find anyplace on, or in a '97 Tahoe
Firewall to mount, or install anything. The audio shop will have good
recommendations also about this. Mark
